The perfect 5 days in Curaçao

This post may contain affiliate links. If you book through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Five days is the sweet spot for a first trip to Curaçao: enough to see the colorful capital, the best beaches, the island's wild national parks and a boat trip, while still leaving afternoons for doing absolutely nothing in the sun.

This itinerary assumes you have a rental car and are staying in or near Willemstad. Swap days around to fit the weather; save the boat day for the calmest forecast.

04Day 3: National parks & flamingos

  • Early: Start at Christoffel National Park. Hikers summit Christoffelberg, the island's highest point at about 1,220 ft, early in the day to beat the heat; check current trail opening times.
  • Midday: Shete Boka National Park on the wild north coast: waves explode into limestone inlets like Boka Tabla.
  • Afternoon: Cool off at a west-end beach such as Playa Jeremi or Kleine Knip.
  • Drive back: Stop by the Sint Willibrordus salt flats, where flamingos often feed.
BringReal hiking shoes, a hat and plenty of water for Christoffel. There's little shade on the trail.

05Day 4: Klein Curaçao

Take a full-day boat trip to Klein Curaçao, the uninhabited island with a white-sand beach, an old lighthouse and a shipwreck. Most trips include breakfast, lunch, drinks and snorkel gear. The open-sea crossing can be choppy, so take motion-sickness remedies early if you need them.
